Peltola Lies
When you don’t have a record to run on,
you build your campaign on lies.

And that’s exactly what Peltola and her far-left allies are doing, taking these disgusting attacks to a new level.
Senator Dan Sullivan is a man of service, a devoted family man, a Marine, and a man of
honor. When far left Democrats can’t compete with his record of delivering for Alaska,
they resort to personal attacks and character assassination. They do it every six years.
In fact, this same deceitful playbook is being used by far left Democrats in other
important Senate races across America. Similar false attacks. Similar lies. But this time,
it’s even worse because Mary Peltola has no record to run on and she is backed by and
beholden to Lower 48 liberals.
When you don’t have a record to run on, you build your campaign on lies. And that’s
exactly what Peltola and her far-left allies are doing, taking these disgusting attacks to a
new level. Here are some of Peltola’s shameful lies, and the facts:
“Senator Sullivan violated insider trading laws.”
Completely false.
Fact:
Senator Sullivan has always followed the highest requirements under Senate Ethics rules. His investments are kept in broad-based mutual funds, where he has no ability to personally direct individual stock trades.
After Sullivan’s parents died, he and his siblings received some individual stocks, which were almost immediately sold by third-party advisers acting independently and without Sullivan’s knowledge. As soon as Sullivan learned about the sales, he immediately filed the required Senate administrative disclosure forms. There were no penalties or charges assessed.
The Bottom Line:
There was no insider trading. The transactions were handled by outside advisers, and the required disclosures were filed.
Sullivan is a co-sponsor of the Stop Insider Trading Act, which calls for members of Congress and their families to be banned from trading individual stocks while serving the American people. He tried to pass the bill in the Senate, but it was blocked by the Democrats.
PELTOLA’S TROUBLING RECORD:
Peltola’s campaign is funding her lavish lifestyle by paying her a salary while she runs for office. After being voted out of office in 2024, she became a D.C. lobbyist, making close to a half million dollars a year trading on her insider knowledge of Congress.
“Sullivan cast the deciding vote to keep the Epstein files hidden.”
Completely false.
Fact:
Senator Sullivan voted in support of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which became law. He has consistently supported releasing the Epstein files and bringing transparency to the American people about Epstein’s horrendous crimes, while protecting survivors’ identities. FactCheck.org concluded that Peltola’s claim that Sullivan cast the “deciding vote” to keep the Epstein files hidden was not true.
A Record of Advocating for Survivors:
Ever since he served as Alaska’s Attorney General, Sullivan has fought to defend survivors and victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking while expanding resources and legal protections for them. Now, Peltola is trying to politicize these victim’s plight in another desperate lie.
PELTOLA’S TROUBLING RECORD:
Peltola accepted more than $140,000 in donations from Epstein associates — including people who dined with Jeffrey Epstein, flew on his private jet, and visited his island — all of which helped fund her own lavish lifestyle and salary.
“Sullivan’s personal wealth has quadrupled in his two terms in office.”
Completely false.
Fact:
Senator Sullivan has followed the highest standards and requirements under Senate Ethics rules. His personal funds are invested in the same kinds of broad-based mutual funds available to millions of Americans — and those investments grew with the U.S. stock market, but certainly did not quadruple.
Alaska Public Media reported that “if you invested in a broad-based mutual fund when Sullivan was sworn in you’d have roughly quadrupled your money” over the same period.
Sullivan has simply undertaken long-term investing in a growing American economy, pursuant to the highest standard of Senate Ethics requirements.
PELTOLA’S TROUBLING RECORD:
There’s only one candidate getting rich off the American people: Mary Peltola. She pays herself a salary from her campaign — using donor money — to fund her lavish lifestyle. Campaign-finance reports show Peltola’s campaign salary is more than $5,500 per month. She also became a D.C. lobbyist, making close to a half million dollars a year trading on her insider knowledge of Congress.
Senator Sullivan voted to cut Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security for Alaskans
Completely false.
Fact:
Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid have not been cut for Alaska, thanks to Sullivan. In fact, Alaska will receive hundreds of millions more dollars annually to support its Medicaid program. Any changes made to the Medicaid system nationally had ZERO effect on Alaska.
In fact, Alaska has received additional federal support through Sullivan’s Rural Health Transformation Fund, which is bringing in $1.4 billion to Alaska to lower costs and strengthen health care across our state.
PELTOLA’S TROUBLING RECORD:
While Peltola falsely attacked Sullivan over misleading Medicaid claims, her own radical-left Democratic party fought against major health care provisions designed to help Alaska. Peltola is aligned with these socialist Democrats who want to hurt Alaska.
Senator Chuck Schumer and Senate who are all funding Peltola’s campaign were the ones who stripped hundreds of millions of additional Medicaid funding specifically for Alaska. They also tried to strip out the Rural Health Transformation Fund that is now bringing hundreds of millions of dollars to Alaska’s health care system. Sullivan fought back and was able to stop them, protecting critical health care funding for Alaskans.
The Working Families Tax Cut Act is a huge tax cut only for millionaires and billionaires.
Completely false.
Fact:
The WFTCA does not lower the top marginal tax rate for the wealthiest Americans. The rate remains at 37%, meaning millionaires and billionaires will face the same top marginal tax rate as before.
In fact, during the debate on the WFTCA, Senator Susan Collins of Maine offered an amendment to raise the top tax bracket from 37% to 39.6% for those making over $25 million. Sullivan voted for this amendment, but almost every Democratic Senator voted against it, ensuring its failure.
The WFTCA is benefitting working families and seniors by:
- Preventing the largest tax increase in U.S. history
- Establishing No Tax on Tips
- Establishing No Tax on Overtime
- Providing a $6,000 tax deduction per senior
- Permanently extending the Child Care Tax Credit and increasing it from $1,000 to $2,200
Senator Sullivan voted to take Medicaid away from people who need it most.
Completely false.
Fact:
The WFTCA made ZERO cuts to Medicaid in Alaska and actually strengthened Medicare access with a 2.5% “doc fix.” At the same time, it protects Medicaid for the people the program has traditionally served, including children, pregnant women, seniors, people with disabilities or serious medical needs, and certain caregivers.
The WFTCA now requires certain able-bodied adults without dependent children to work, volunteer, or attend school for at least 20 hours per week to remain eligible for certain benefits. If they get a job with health insurance and no longer need Medicaid, that’s a success — not the government taking their health care away.
Alaska Natives are exempt because a federal work requirement designed for the Lower 48 does not always fit remote rural Alaska, where jobs, training programs, and volunteer opportunities can be extremely limited.
PELTOLA’S TROUBLING RECORD:
Peltola is embracing the same scare tactics and far-left ideology of the Senate Democrats she is now beholden to instead of supporting common sense. Even Democratic President Bill Clinton embraced the same basic principle nearly 30 years ago: protect the safety net for people who need it, while encouraging able-bodied adults who can work to enter the workforce.
Senator Sullivan is a “career politician” who is part of a “rigged system” which doesn’t help working families.
Completely false.
Fact:
Dan Sullivan is a career Marine, having spent 30 years on active duty and the reserves, retiring as a full colonel. He has served two terms in the U.S. Senate, helping Alaskans address some of the most difficult issues facing our state, passing 63 bills during that time. His focus has been on Alaska families, jobs, and lowering costs—not “political greed.”
- He helped pass major tax cuts for working families, small businesses, and seniors.
- He has fought to open Alaska’s energy resources to create good-paying jobs and help lower energy costs.
- He has secured millions of dollars for Alaska’s roads, ports, and other infrastructure, helping connect communities and strengthen the economy.
- Sullivan has also worked to lower prescription drug costs and expand access to health care throughout Alaska, bringing hundreds of millions of dollars to our state.
- And when inflation drove up the cost of groceries, gas, and everyday necessities, Sullivan opposed the Biden administration’s massive spending and restrictions on Alaska energy.
- He helped pass major legislation to fight the opioid and fentanyl epidemic, including the STOP Act to help prevent deadly fentanyl from being shipped into communities, and legislation expanding treatment and recovery services.
- His legislation has protected our veterans, survivors of domestic violence, survivors of sex trafficking, and our oceans.
- He is leading the largest military and Coast Guard buildup in Alaskan history, making America stronger and creating thousands of jobs for Alaskans.
- He has legislation to reduce bycatch, passed laws to clean-up our oceans and combat illegal fishing by Russian and Chinese trawl fleets, and banned Russian fish from the U.S. market so Alaska’s fishermen can compete on a level playing field.
Sullivan’s record is about putting Alaska families, workers, and communities first.
In fact, Sullivan has built such a strong record of getting legislation through a divided Congress, that he tied for #1 among all 100 U.S. senators for sponsored bills signed into law in 2025 and ranked fourth in the Senate for bills passed. He is consistently recognized as one of the Senate’s more effective lawmakers, ranked among the top 10 Republican senators for legislative effectiveness and, in one Congress, the #1 Republican senator on environmental legislation.
PELTOLA’S TROUBLING RECORD:
Peltola is falsely positioning herself as the “DC outsider,” but the truth is she is the career politician having served for decades in elected politics, and was the most ineffective member of Congress in Alaska history. She served two terms in Congress, did not get a single bill signed into law, and has a record of missing important votes and meetings.
- Alaska State House: Peltola missed 794 of 4,265 votes (18.6%) during her five terms from 1999 to 2009.
- 23rd Alaska Legislature: Her highest number of absences came from 2003 to 2004, when she missed 334 of 1,019 House votes (32.8%)
- Bethel City Council: Peltola missed 22 of 60 meetings (36.67%) from 2011 to 2013.
- 2012 Bethel City Council: Peltola missed 11 of 32 meetings (34.4%)
- 2013 Bethel City Council: Peltola missed 9 of 22 meetings (40.9%)
- U.S. House: Peltola missed 235 of 1,370 roll-call votes (17.2%) for the two terms she represented Alaska in D.C.
Imagine telling your boss you’re taking one day off every week. No wonder Alaskans fired her.
Then, she went straight through the revolving door and became a D.C. lobbyist, making close to half a million dollars a year trading on her insider knowledge of Congress. She epitomizes the broken and rigged system in D.C.
In addition, take a close look at who helps Peltola raise her campaign money: The most radical far-left D.C. insiders like “AOC” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the “Squad’s” Pramila Jayapal, as well as the disgraced Eric Swalwell, who was forced to resign from Congress after credible allegations of sexual assault. She brought Swalwell to Juneau as a featured guest at her campaign fundraiser, despite him allegedly being romantically involved with a suspected Chinese spy and history of sexual misconduct.
These radical-left D.C. donors are no friends of Alaska or Alaska’s energy industry. Yet Peltola still welcomes their money. Talk about a ‘rigged system.’
Mary Peltola supports Alaska oil and gas development.
Completely false.
Fact:
Senator Sullivan passed legislation to mandate Alaska lease-sales, raise the State’s share of revenue, reduce regulatory barriers to development in NPR-A, ANWR, and Cook Inlet, and overturn Biden’s 70 executive orders and actions targeting Alaska’s economy. Oil and gas production in Alaska is rising for the first time in a generation, Pikka is flowing, Willow is under construction, and the NPR-A had a record lease sale in 2026. Thousands more Alaskans are employed in the oil and gas sector since the end of the Biden-Peltola era.
PELTOLA’S TROUBLING RECORD:
Peltola cuts and run on Alaska’s energy sector when Lower 48 liberals tell her too. Peltola voted ‘present’ on her own Alaska energy bill, the Alaska Right to Produce Act, and lobbied her far left Democrat allies to kill it.
She voted no on the Lower Energy Costs Act to increase energy production, did nothing when Joe Biden cancelled leases in ANWR and issued 70 executive orders and actions targeting Alaska’s economy, and even opposes the legislation Sullivan passed to unleash oil and gas development in ANWR, NPR-A and Cook Inlet. Peltola’s first vote would make Chuck Schumer the Senate Majority Leader, empowering the far left Lower 48 liberals that shut down Alaska’s economy.
Mary Peltola supports our troops and the military
Completely false.
Fact:
Senator Sullivan has worked to ensure that Alaska’s military bases, service members and their families, and Alaska’s veterans receive the support they deserve and have earned. He has helped veterans receive care closer to home and secured billions of dollars to strengthen Alaska’s strategic defense infrastructure, which is undergoing the largest military build-up and expansion since World War II. He has championed pay raises and quality-of-life improvements for service members and their families.
The largest Coast Guard investment in history, four icebreakers homeported in Alaska, F-35s and KC-135s at Eielson, saving 5,000 troops at JBER from being cut, and the $7 billion ‘Fighter Town USA’ recapitalization at JBER all project power and secure America’s interests in the Arctic while growing our economy and providing good-paying jobs for Alaska’s families.
PELTOLA’S TROUBLING RECORD:
Peltola voted against a 5.2% pay raise for service members – the largest in decades, and bonuses to our most junior service members to help keep up with rising costs and instead sided with her far left Lower 48 liberal allies in favor of DEI in the military and taxpayer funded gender transition surgeries for transgender servicemembers and minor dependents.
Peltola voted against benefits and medical care earned by Alaska’s heroic veterans, and even voted against important military construction projects, including housing for our troops at Ft. Wainwright and the runway extension at JBER.
Sullivan sides with out-of-state trawlers over fishing families
Completely false.
Fact:
Peltola says she’s focused on fisheries issues and reducing bycatch, but during her two terms in Congress she didn’t pass a single bill into law on fisheries or anything else – zero bills passed into law. In fact, Peltola introduced zero fish bills during her first term. The real champion for fishermen is Senator Sullivan, who has passed dozens of bills and delivers solutions – not empty slogans.
Senator Sullivan introduced the Bycatch Reduction Act with the toughest bycatch standards ever proposed – keeping nets off the seafloor, mandatory salmon excluders, real-time monitoring, and transparency. Sullivan has passed laws to combat illegal fishing by Russian and Chinese trawl fleets, established a new Office of Seafood within the Department of Agriculture, and Russian fish from the U.S. market so Alaska’s fishermen can compete on a level playing field.
Far left Lower 48 liberals like Chuck Schumer didn’t recruit Peltola to run for the Senate because they agree with her on bycatch. They’re funding her campaign because Peltola will empower them.

Dan Sullivan doesn’t hold town halls or show up in Alaska communities.
Completely false.
Fact:
Dan Sullivan and his team have held more than 60 town halls and meetings across Alaska in 2026.
Throughout his time in the Senate, Senator Sullivan has spent extensive time traveling across Alaska—meeting with families, workers, small business owners, Alaska Native leaders, health care providers, local officials, and other Alaskans.
Yet, Mary Peltola’s Democratic allies want Alaskans to believe that Senator Sullivan refuses to hold town halls and doesn’t show up to listen to the people he represents.
His record tells a different story. In 2026 alone, Senator Sullivan and his team held well over 60 town halls and meetings across Alaska, giving Alaskans opportunities to ask questions, raise concerns, and talk directly with Senator Sullivan and his team.
Bottom line: Claim that Senator Sullivan doesn’t show up or listen to Alaskans simply isn’t true.
DEMOCRATS’ TROUBLING RECORD:
Mary Peltola’s liberal allies have organized “empty-chair” town halls targeting Senator Sullivan. This was part of a broader Democrat strategy in the Lower 48, where progressive groups organized their own “town halls” in Republican districts.
In Senator Sullivan’s case, he was invited on very short notice by these liberal activists, and when he was unable to attend, they placed an empty chair or cardboard cutout of him onstage as a symbol of disrespect and mockery. They invited the media to cover the events, even though they had been staged and organized as a publicity stunt and not a genuine space to hold meaningful discussion.
